Workplace Flu Vaccinations

Is your business ready for the 2012 flu season?
Now is the time to act!

The flu thrives and is easily spread in the office environment. It has been found that influenza viruses can survive for:

  • Up to one hour in the air in enclosed environments such as the office
  • More than eight hours on hard surfaces such as keyboards and telephones
  • Up to five minutes on hands after transfer from other surfaces.

The flu costs Australian businesses 1.5 million working days each year. Affected employees will be absent for an average of 3-5 working days with lowered productivity (presenteeism) for up to two weeks.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends vaccination as the most effective way to prevent the spread of influenza.

Flu vaccinations are best delivered in Autumn (March to May) in order to protect against the winter influenza outbreaks.

Be one step ahead of the flu this year with a Wesley Health Promotion vaccination program.  Wesley Health Promotion is now taking bookings for flu vaccinations delivered at your workplace. Our nurse vaccinators can visit your workplace during March, April and May, and protect your employees from the winter flu season and minimising absenteeism.

As well as reducing the direct cost of absenteeism, vaccination can prevent 'presenteeism' (lowered productivity) and help to maintain staff morale. That's because the flu thrives in the office environment, causing employees to be absent for an average of 3-5 days with lowered productivity for up to two weeks.

Be one step ahead of the flu this year with a Wesley Health Promotion vaccination program. Our nurse vaccinators can visit your workplace during March, April and May, and protect your employees from the winter flu season and minimising absenteeism.
